The numbers are in, and 2017 was up 1.4% over home sales in 2016 in Wisconsin. This actually sets an all-time record for Wisconsin’s housing market, with just over 83,000 units sold. This increase of home sales is even with such a LOW INVENTORY of homes on the market. The demand is very high with qualified home buyers.
Sold home prices were higher as well in 2017, with the annual median price of $174,000. That’s 5.5% higher than 2016 sold home prices. Not a bad year for home values in the lovely state of Wisconsin!
Now for Brown County, WI 2016’s median home sale price was $157,500 and 2017’s median home sale price was 169,900 – that’s a 7.9% increase! Year to date home sales for 2016 were 3,595 and for 2017 they were 3,502. With a -2.6% decrease in home sales, I’m sure that helped bump up our home values.
As a Realtor, I’m looking forward to what 2018 will bring in terms of home sales and home values. And as a home owner, for right now, I’ll enjoy the equity building in my home 🙂
