Keep your home in hot shape (pun most definitely intended) for the winter months with these great tips:
- Make sure the attic space in your home is insulated. It’s quick and easy to add this.
- Weather strip and/or use door sweeps. Sometimes your doors have small gaps and leak in cold air.
- Make caulk your friend. Check around door frames and window frame and seal up gaps if needed.
- Check your basement box sill. This is one of the thinnest points in a home’s exterior, located around the edge of the basement ceiling where the joists meet the walls. You can add spray foam that expands.
Being a homeowner adds some extra responsibility on your part – but if any of these tasks seem daunting or you don’t have time to do it, contact a handyperson! Not sure where to find one – give us a call, we’d love to help recommend one.
