Wisconsin’s Housing Strongest 1st Half Since Before 2005

Green Bay Housing Market ConditionsYou read that title correctly, Wisconsin’s housing market is the strongest it’s been since the Great Recession of 2005.

According to the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA): Home sales in the first six months of this year were up 5.5 percent over the first half of 2015 and median prices were 4.5 percent higher than the first half of last year, at $162,000 in 2016 compared to $155,000 in 2015. Comparing just the month of June, home sales were up 3.4 percent this year over last and prices were 3.8 percent higher in 2016.

What wonderful news! June and July are typically the strongest months for home sales in general. My personal strongest month in home sales seems to be August, that cutoff just before the school year begins.

The average number of days on the market for homes in Wisconsin is 86 – which is a quick turnaround. Here are the DOM for Brown County areas:

Green Bay – 88
De Pere – 72
Allouez – 59 (say whaaaat!?)
Ashwaubenon – 75
Bellevue – 75
Hobart – 124
Howard – 82
Town of Scott – 80

I’d say, Green Bay is doing very well compared to the rest of Wisconsin! If you’re thinking of selling your home, or know of someone who is thinking of selling, CONTACT ME. I’d love to tell you how I will sell your home in the least amount of time for the most amount of money.
